Before you buy
Will anyone actually use my dashcam footage?
Insurers and police use it routinely, and it is frequently decisive where two accounts conflict. Submit the original file, timestamp intact, unedited. Footage routinely turns a 50/50 argument into a documented sequence of events.
Does parking mode drain the battery?
A proper hardwire kit has voltage cut-off that stops recording before the battery can't start the car. Cheap cigarette-lighter setups without it are how the myth started.
Is front-only enough?
It covers the majority of scenarios, but rear-end and reversing disputes are among the most common claims there are — the rear camera typically earns its £40 premium with the first incident.
