MotoNovo Finance car finance claims: check your agreement

Part of FirstRand Bank; a major used-car finance provider through dealer networks. If you had PCP or HP with them between April 2007 and November 2024, your agreement may fall in scope of the FCA's £7.5 billion commission redress scheme.

What to know

MotoNovo Finance and the FCA scheme

Widely used for used-car HP and PCP through independent dealers. MotoNovo's parent, FirstRand, was one of the two lenders in the Supreme Court case (Johnson v FirstRand, 2025) that led to the FCA scheme. The scheme was confirmed by the FCA in March 2026 (PS26/3) and is currently paused while a legal challenge is heard (hearings from December 2026) — but the deadline for pre-April-2014 agreements remains 31 August 2026, and complaints lodged now are simply queued until the scheme resumes.

The free route, step by step

1) Find any paperwork (or just note the car and rough dates). 2) Contact MotoNovo Finance’s complaints team through their website, quoting your details and “commission on my motor finance agreement”. 3) Keep their acknowledgement. That’s it — the scheme requires the lender to check their commission records and assess your agreement. No fee, no claims company, nothing deducted from any payout.
